Head of Venture Finance

The Head of Venture Finance is a senior leadership role responsible for shaping and executing the financial strategy of ventures within our portfolio. This person will serve as a strategic partner to Venture CEOs and leadership teams, ensuring financial sustainability, compliance, and scalability. The role combines deep expertise in corporate finance, venture economics, and operational excellence with the ability to act as a trusted advisor for investment decisions and business growth.

Key responsibilities

Strategic Venture Finance Leadership

• Define and drive financial strategy for portfolio ventures, balancing growth, profitability, and risk management.

• Act as a sparring partner for Venture CEOs, founders, and the Group CFO in financial decision-making.

• Build and optimize venture financial models, including P&L, cashflow, and valuation scenarios.

Venture Development Support

• Support investment rounds, M&A opportunities, and negotiations with external investors.

Venture Financial Operations & Control

• Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and performance tracking across ventures.

• Design and implement reporting structures and KPIs aligned with both group and venture needs.

• Establish cost control mechanisms, funding allocations, and capital efficiency measures.

Team & Stakeholder Management

• Lead and mentor finance professionals within ventures and across the finance community.

• Collaborate closely with Group Finance, HR, Legal, and Operations to align financial strategies with overall business objectives.

Requirements

Education courses / knowledge

• Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field (MBA/CFA/ACCA is a plus)

Language level

• English fluent

Hard skills

• Advanced financial modelling & valuation (3-statement, DCF/VC method, comps, scenario/sensitivity)

• Venture financing mechanics

• Runway & cash management/treasury

• FP&A & P&L ownership (budgeting, forecasting, variance/driver analysis across a portfolio)

• KPI architecture & reporting (unit economics, cohort/LTV-CAC, board packs, portfolio dashboards)

• Internal controls & finance governance

Soft skills

• Excellent financial modelling and valuation expertise

• Strong understanding of venture building, start-up economics, and fundraising mechanics

• Strategic mindset with the ability to balance entrepreneurial speed and financial discipline

• Leadership skills to build and manage cross-functional finance teams

• Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills (both executive-level and operational)

Preferred qualifications

• Min. 7 years in corporate finance, venture finance, private equity, investment banking, or a high-growth scale-up environment

• Proven track record in fundraising, venture scaling, and financial governance

• Strong background in managing P&L responsibility and implementing financial controls
